Braised Beef Shin and Kidney with Oyster Sauce

Beef shin 600 g
Duck Kidneys 300 g4 pcs
Ginger (s) 5 slices
Green onion(s) 2 pcs [sectioned]


Premium Oyster Sauce 5 tbsp
Star anise 1 pc
Cinnamon 1 small stick
Pure sesame oil
Fried seasame seeds
Five-spice powder 1/2 tsp
Cooking Wine 1 tbsp
Water 1.5 L

  1. Blanch beef shin and duck kidneys in boiling water. Drain and rinse with cold water. Drain again and set aside.
  2. Saute ginger and green onions in 2 tbsp oil until fragrant. Add beef shin, seasoning mix and boil. Turn to low heat and cook for about 1 hour.  Add duck kidneys and cook for 1 more hour.  Turn off heat and soak for another 1 hour.  Take out the food, cool and slice thinly.  Sprinkle with sesame oil and fried sesame seeds.  Serve at once.
